Technical Member

Technical membership is a special category of membership offered to coaches and judges who have successfully completed required competencies by attending one of Singapore Gymnastics accreditation courses in Coaching or Judging, or have successfully achieved Recognition of Prior Learning.

How to become a Technical Member

Technical membership is renewable at the start of the new year and expires on 31 December each year.

Existing coach

Existing Technical members need not re-register, an invoice will be generated and sent via email to members. Should existing technical members not receive any correspondence by end of January, please write in to sgoffice@singaporegymnastics.org.sg 

New coach

Thinking to start coaching? The Fundamental Gymnastics Coaching Course is the minimum requirement to coach in Singapore and would be the place for you to start. Click here for more information. 

Overseas coach If you are from an overseas coach, please read through our Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process. Depending on the accreditation you hold, please select the appropriate category and complete application.
Returning coach If you are from a returning coach, please read through our Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process. Depending on the accreditation you hold, please select the appropriate category and complete application.

 

Membership is annual and are based on a calendar year. By renewing and/or registering technical membership with Singapore Gymnastics, you agree to the Term of Registrations as well as to abide by the SG’s policies and regulations, in particular [P008] Membership Policy, [P014] Code of Ethical Practice (Coach), [P031] Member Protection Policy, [P034] Code of Conduct (Judge) and [P040] Child Safe Policy

 


 

Membership requirements

Coach Judge
holding a coaching accreditation issued and/or recognised by SG holding a judging accreditation issued and/or recognised by SG
holding a valid Standard First Aid accreditation paying the prescribed yearly subscription fee
registered as a NROC member (SG CoacH Theory 1 & VPS)  
Completed the Understanding Safe Sport for Coaches online module  
paying the prescribed yearly subscription fee  

 

Additional rules

  • For members who compete and attend courses, the higher membership should be applied for – i.e a registered coach (Technical Member) that is also a current competing athlete will need to pay the Technical Memberships fee.
  • For Technical COACH Members, they will be required to attend updating opportunities to maintain their NROC membership.
  • For Technical COACH Members, if they are “Inactive” for longer than 4 years they will be required to renew their accreditation or apply for special consideration through the Recognition of Prior Learning process.
  • For Technical JUDGE Members, judging accreditation will be de-activated if a member has not paid Technical Membership fees for more than 2 years. Please note judges have requirements to maintain their accreditation which is outlined in [P011] National Judging Accreditation Pathway policy. Please refer to [P008] Membership Policy that outlines the management of lapses in the payment of the annual Technical Membership fee.

Safe Sport

This online module is compulsory for any Technical members who are coaching. This includes Judges who are coaching. Technical members who are strictly judging only need not complete this online module.

All coaches are required to be Safe Sport Accredited, as guided by Sport Singapore. Coaches are to complete the online module and upload the certificate of completion into your SG member account. [Read more...]

Standard First Aid

Valid Standard First Aid is necessary for any Technical members who are coaching. This includes Judges who are coaching. Technical members who are strictly judging only do not need Standard First Aid.

All SG technical coaches must have a valid Standard First Aid certificate. The  Standard First Aid course should include both theoretical examination and practical assessment including AED, CPR and bandaging of wounds, as stipulated by Singapore resuscitation and First Aid Council (SRFAC)

Please note that Basic First Aid, CERT First Aid and/or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) accreditation are not accepted.
