May 2023 Board Update

This is an update from the 18th Board Meeting held on Wednesday 24 May 2023 at the SG National Office.

2023 MAG & WAG Intermediate Coaching Course F2F sessions completed

Singapore Gymnastics conducted our 3rd year of Intermediate Coaching Course for Men's and Women's Artistic Gymnastics this July with a total of 20 participant coaches. Our instructor coaches Derek Trotter, Aizat Jufrie, Lim Heem Wei, Nabilah Littleford and guest instructor Stacey Umeh (AUS) covered lots of practical work with the coaches and we hope all participant coaches had a great experience at the course.

Annual Awards - Celebrating the community in 2022

With every Annual Awards run, SG wishes to acknowledge and recognise all individuals in the Gymnastics community who has made a significant contribution to the sport. We would like to congratulate all the winners at the 2022 Singapore Gymnastics Annual Awards held on 16 July 2023 at the Black Box Auditorium.

2023 Peter Lim Scholarship

The Peter Lim Scholarship ceremony was held yesterday, 10th July 2023, to award the recipients for this scholarship. The Singapore Olympic Foundation (SOF) set up the SOF-Peter Lim Scholarship with a S$10-million donation from philanthropist and sports enthusiast, Mr Peter Lim.

2023 Artistic Gymnastic World Championships

Following the conclusion of our 2023 Artistic Gymnastic Asian Championships that was held in Singapore, from 10th – 18th June. We are proud to announce that Nadine Nathan and Emma Yap have secured themselves a spot at the 2023 Artistic World Championships. The competition will be held between 30th September to 8th October in Antwerp, Belgium.

Rhythmic Gymnastics (RG) National Training Centre (NTC) Selection Trial

Singapore Gymnastics (SG) is pleased to announce that registration for the annual Rhythmic Gymnastics (RG) National Training Centre (NTC) Selection Trial is now open! Objective: To identify and induct talented individuals who have the potential to represent Singapore at major games (South East Asian Games, Asian Games, Olympic Games etc.) and international championships. Members of the public/ gymnasts will be put through a series of test items conducted and assessed by our team of RG NTC coac

8 days left till we commence the 2023 Singapore Open!

With only 8 more days away till we commence the 2023 Singapore Open, we hope that you are looking forward to one of our most exciting athlete line-ups! The competition will be held from 26th May – 4th June at the Bishan Sports Hall, and it will consist of the 4 competing disciplines: Men’s Artistic Gymnastics (MAG), Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (WAG), Rhythmic Gymnastics (RG) and Trampoline Gymnastics (TRA).

The movements involved in gymnastics contribute to the development of the arms, legs, shoulders, back, chest and abdominal muscle groups. Alertness, precision, daring, self-confidence and self-discipline are mental traits that can also be developed through gymnastics.
