All judges' accreditation will expire at the end of 2024

Published Wed 04 Oct 2023

Heads up!

Please note that all judges in 2025 will be required to re-accredit either via courses or workshops due to change in Code of Points (CoP) to maintain their accreditation i.e. All judge's accreditation will expire at the end of 2024.

Q: If I am a current Level 1 judge, should I still take the upcoming Level 2 judging course? Does my newly acquired level 2 judging accreditation also expire in 2024?

A: If a RG National judge upgrades from Level 1 to level 2 in 2024, they will need to reaccredit and attend a Level 2 judges course between November 2024 – February 2025 to be eligible to judge in 2025 and beyond.

A: If a WAG or TRA National judge upgrades from Level 1 to Level 2 in 2024, they will just need to attend a refresher workshop and not a full course to maintain their accreditation and be eligible to judge in 2025 and beyond.

Q: Why are there differences in maintaining judging accreditation between disciplines to be able to judge in 2025 and beyond?

For RG, because it is a full review and overhaul of the current national programme, it will affect the judging tremendously hence why judges will need to resit and attend the NEW courses.

For WAG, there will be some minor tweaks to the current national programme. This will not change the judging, but the new FIG CoP for 2025-2028 could impact, hence the compulsory workshops that all WAG National judges will need to attend.

Please note judging accreditation only lasts every 4 years essentially and is linked to the FIG CoP. With every change to the CoP which happens the year following the Olympics Games, judges may need to reaccredit totally (like in the case of RG) or attend updating workshops.

Q: Is there any change to how judges maintain their accreditation going forward?

A: The judges policy will be reviewed in mid 2024.
