Thank You, Shandy — A Heartfelt Farewell to a Shining Star of Singapore Gymnastics

Published Wed 04 Jun 2025

After more than a decade of passion, perseverance, and pride, Singapore gymnast Shandy has announced her retirement from competitive gymnastics.

Shandy’s gymnastics journey began at the tender age of 4 at Alpha Gymnastics, where her love for the sport first took root. At age 7, she continued her development at Win-Win Gymnastics, before being selected to join the National Training Centre (NTC) on 29 September 2014, at just 9 years old. From that moment, she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to representing Singapore at the highest level.

Over the years, Shandy has made an unforgettable impact on Singapore’s gymnastics scene. Among her proudest achievements:

  • Team Bronze at the 2022 Southeast Asian Games in Vietnam (age 17)

  • Representing Singapore at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham (age 17)

  • 6th place team finish at the 2023 Senior Asian Championships in Singapore (age 18)

  • Top 16 Individual All-Around at the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou (age 18)

  • 7th place team finish at the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou

Beyond the medals and rankings, Shandy’s journey has been marked by her unwavering dedication, humble spirit, and the joy she brought to her teammates and coaches every single day. Her quiet strength and graceful determination have inspired a generation of young gymnasts in Singapore.

As she closes this chapter, we want to say a heartfelt thank you, Shandy — for your years of hard work, for the pride you brought to our nation, and for being such a wonderful role model both on and off the mat. Your legacy will live on in the hearts of those you've inspired and in the foundation you’ve helped build for the future of Singapore gymnastics.

We wish you all the very best in your next chapter.

You will always be a part of the Singapore gymnastics family.
