Singapore Gymnastics is pleased to launch the Singapore Gymnastics Development Programme (SGDP) Framework, effective from April 2026.

The SGDP is a national support framework created to establish a structured and collaborative pathway for the identification and development of young gymnasts across Singapore, primarily focusing on athletes aged 7–14 years depending on discipline. The framework aims to strengthen and unite the gymnastics community by creating shared standards, aligned development practices, and stronger collaboration between clubs and the National Training Centre (NTC). It is designed not as an award or selection recognition system, but as a development opportunity to nurture gymnasts, support coaches, and build a unified “One Team Singapore Gymnastics” culture.

Building a Clear Pathway for Future Success

The SGDP pathway supports long-term athlete development through a clear progression model:

SGDP → National Squad → International Representation → Major Games & Championships

The framework includes:

• Clear athlete identification processes through National Championships
• Discipline-specific selection benchmarks for MAG, WAG, and RG
• Year-round SGDP training sessions and mini camps
• Coach education and alignment workshops
• Structured collaboration between clubs and national coaches

This framework represents a significant step forward in strengthening Singapore’s gymnastics development system and ensuring young athletes receive consistent, high-quality support throughout their journey.

Online SGDP Information Session for Clubs and Coaches

To introduce the framework in detail, Singapore Gymnastics will host an online SGDP Information Session for all club representatives and coaches.

During the session:

• Berfin Serdil Ors, Performance Director, will present the overall SGDP vision and framework
• Francisco Azra, MAG National Head Coach, will explain the MAG pathway
• Georgia Rose Brown, WAG National Head Coach, will explain the WAG pathway
• Amy Kwan, RG National Head Coach, will explain the RG pathway

Further details, including the meeting link and provisional SGDP schedules for each discipline, will be shared with clubs directly.
