Singapore Gymnastics Announces 2025 Competition Calendar
Singapore Gymnastics is excited to unveil the 2025 Competition Calendar, thoughtfully planned to align with local school holidays, upcoming Major Games, and international gymnastics events. This calendar not only supports athlete development but also encourages greater participation from local schools and the wider gymnastics community.
Strategic Planning for Key Competitions
Our competition dates have been carefully chosen to maximize athlete and community engagement:
-
National Championships: For over 10 years, the National Championships has been a cornerstone event, traditionally held during the March school holidays. To accommodate the growing number of aspiring gymnasts, this is the second year in which the Junior National Championships has been introduced. The Junior National Championships will take place two weeks before the main event, providing more athletes with the opportunity to compete and showcase their skills.
-
Singapore Open: Typically held within the first two weeks of the June school holidays, the order in which gymnastics disciplines are scheduled may be influenced by the regional Asian Championships. Historically, the order has remained consistent, with only one adjustment made last year due to the scheduling of the Asian Championships.
- National Levels Cup: Anchored in the September school holidays, the event provides a key competition opportunity for athletes before the year-end.
-
Gymnastics Carnival and GymFest: Timed right before the November school holidays, these fun-filled events are designed to attract school teams and encourage participation from gymnastics enthusiasts.
-
Singapore Gymnastics Classics: This major event usually takes place over the last two weekends of November, contingent on the international gymnastics calendar, showcasing both local and international talent.
-
Lunar Competition: Scheduled around Chinese New Year and planned to be two to three weeks before the National Championships, this competition provides High Performance athletes with critical preparation opportunities.
The Lunar Competition and Singapore Gymnastics Classics were specifically introduced to support high-performance development. These competitions play a crucial role in periodisation planning and offer athletes valuable data points that contribute to their selection for Major Games.
With this strategic planning, Singapore Gymnastics remains committed to fostering the growth of gymnastics and ensuring our athletes are primed for success on the national and international stage.
