Singapore Gymnastics (SG) acknowledges the Ministry of Education’s (MOE) decision to retire Trampoline Gymnastics from the National School Games (NSG) from 2029.

SG is disappointed by this development and recognises the concerns it may cause among students, parents, coaches, schools and clubs. The change will be particularly disappointing for athletes who have trained with the aspiration of representing their schools.

The decision to retire Trampoline from the NSG was made by MOE, which has the responsibility to determine the sports offered at the Games.

SG will work with MOE and relevant stakeholders on transition arrangements for affected student-athletes. This includes exploring how participation and achievements at recognised SG competitions may support school-based recognition, including eligibility for school Colours Awards during the transition period. Further details will be shared once confirmed.

Trampoline Gymnastics remains an important part of Singapore’s gymnastics community. SG will continue to include Trampoline in its competition pathway and explore ways to strengthen participation through national competitions, development programmes and other suitable opportunities.

SG will also work closely with clubs, coaches and the wider gymnastics community to provide meaningful competitive opportunities and a clear pathway for athletes to progress in the sport.

The retirement of Trampoline from the NSG is a significant change to the school competition landscape, but it does not mark the end of Trampoline Gymnastics in Singapore. SG remains committed to supporting athletes as they train, compete, develop and pursue their sporting ambitions.
