Singapore Gymnastics (SG) has taken a significant step towards fortifying its commitment to excellence in gymnastics with the announcement of the appointment of new Discipline Technical Advisory Councils (TACs) for the years 2024-2025. These TACs, representing various gymnastics disciplines, are entrusted with the vital role of advising and supporting the National Office. The establishment of these councils reflects SG's dedication to fostering a collaborative and strategic approach in shaping the future of gymnastics in Singapore.
Functions of Discipline Councils with Emphasis on Advising and Supporting the National Office:
- Carry out SG's Purposes and Objectives: The Discipline Councils will actively align their efforts with the overarching goals of SG and work closely with the National Office to provide valuable advice and support.
- Provide Technical Direction: Offering guidance and direction to the gymnastics community in Singapore, with a focus on collaborative efforts with the National Office.
- Implementation of Policies: Collaboratively carrying out technical and operational policies and procedures directed by the SG National Office Staff, with a focus on seamless integration and support.
- Technical Regulations: Preparation and submission of technical regulations for approval by SG HPTD or delegated SG Staff, ensuring alignment with the strategic direction set by the National Office.
- Event Coordination: Coordinating and implementing technical regulations at all SG events in collaboration with the National Office, ensuring a unified approach to event management.
- Programme Formulation: Formulating, interpreting, and publicising discipline programmes in alignment with the vision set by the National Office, providing support in program development.
- Support for Judges and Coaches: Providing collaborative support and guidance for judges and coaches to enhance the discipline, contributing to the broader objectives set by the National Office.
- Community Communication: Maintaining open lines of communication with the gymnastics community, facilitating seamless information exchange between the Discipline Councils and the National Office.
