The coaches and support staff of Singapore Gymnastics' National Training Centres concluded their planning meetings for returning to training.
Led by our Chief Medical Officer, Dr Cormac O Muircheartaigh, plans have now been developed by the coaches to effectively manage the workload of athletes once they are able to return to training (RTT).
The emphasis for athletes will be on a gradual return to full training load, spread over 3 to 6 months, along with daily monitoring of training loads to make informed decisions about athlete health and wellbeing. This is consistent with the consensus of international experts, who strongly recommend the 'tortoise' approach, rather than the 'hare'.
Special thanks to our support team for contributing to the development of these plans, specifically our Chief Medical Officer, team physiotherapists, nutritionist, psychologist, biomechanist and strength and conditioning coach.
