November 2022 Board Update

This is an update from the 12th Board Meeting held online on Monday 7 November 2022 via Microsoft Teams.

  1. The Board were updated on the Safe Sport Journey Symposium held on the 1-2 November 2022 in Liverpool as well as the Commonwealth Gymnastics Confederation meeting held on 3 December 2022 attended by the General Manager.
  2. The Board finalised details of the lunch meeting to be held with the RG community on 15 December which is being organised with the aim of building a cohesive and supportive community. The session will be facilitated by the President, with the clubs in breakout groups discussing the topic and possible solutions which will then be tabled for the entire the community to work on.
  3. The GM presented the H1 status and achievements of the FY22/23 operational plan as at the end of September 2022, and highlighted key focus areas and tasks for H2, some of which included the following:
  1. Development of the Board Evaluation plan by the Governance Committee in the next few months
  2. Implementation of athlete forums at 2023 National Championships.
  3. Annual community survey to be conducted in December 2022 to all stakeholders.
  4. Find recruit more membership sponsors for to enhance members’ benefits.
  5. Conduct second SGDP camp for the year in November/December along with the High-Performance Symposium with four international technical experts involved.
  6. High Performance Parent Engagement Road map is being developed that will be implemented in the second half of the year.
  7. Implementation of Fitter for Life after the launch on the 18 & 19 October where Frances Crampton conducted workshops and training for coaches and staff.
  8. The start of the review of RG National Programme which will commence in November 2022.
  1. The Board reviewed the FY23/24 draft operational plan and high-level budget submitted to SportSG with a discussion held on the future organisational structure and headcount over the next few years.
  2. The Board had further discussions on the hosting of the 2023 Artistic Jnr and Snr Asian Championships. The GM shared that a detailed budget and proposal are being developed for SportSG which will be distributed once complete. Preliminary discussions have been held with SportSG and other federations.

The next Board meeting was held on the 30 November 2022.
