We are excited to share that Francisco Azra will be joining Singapore Gymnastics as the new Men’s Artistic Gymnastics (MAG) Head Coach.
This marks a significant milestone for the MAG programme, which has operated without a Head Coach in recent years and relied on the dedication of two National Coaches at the National Training Centre (NTC). With Francisco stepping into this key leadership role, the programme is poised for a new phase of growth and development.
Originally from Brazil, Francisco brings a wealth of international experience to the role. He spent five years as a High Performance Coach at the prestigious Minas Tênis Clube in Brazil, followed by seven years as Head Coach at Exeter Gymnastics Club in England. During his time in the UK, he successfully developed gymnasts who went on to represent both English Gymnastics and British Gymnastics.
Most recently, Francisco contributed to the global gymnastics community as part of the events organising team for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Known for his passion for talent development, Francisco is committed to nurturing young gymnasts and guiding them towards success at the senior international level. His innovative coaching approach and proven track record make him an exciting addition to Singapore Gymnastics.
Francisco’s official duties are scheduled to begin by September 2025, marking another step in Singapore’s mission to elevate its MAG programme to the highest competitive standards.
We look forward to the positive impact Francisco will bring to the MAG programme and are excited for the journey ahead.
