Singapore Gymnastics would like to congratulate Tamara Ong for receiving the NTUC FairPrice Foundation Sports Scholarship, the scholarship was awarded to her for winning the gold medal at Buenos Aires 2018 Summer Youth Olympic Games.

“Receiving the scholarship is a pleasant surprise and am extremely grateful for this recognition and support. I’m planning to apply the scholarship towards covering my training costs for the year. I will be back in June for the Singapore Open as one of the stepping stones to Worlds Champs and SEA Games. I’m hoping that I qualify and do well in these competitions as I enjoy competing in the international comps. YOG was fun, better than I expected on many fronts. Being amongst athletes who are all dedicated to their own sport was relatable. Conversations were easy, despite language barriers and different sports. It has given me the impetus to be a better gymnast and only wished that the competition allowed for more of my teammates to have had the same experience.”
