Singaporean Gymnastics Coaches Achieve Excellence in Doha's FIG Academy Level 3 Course

In a remarkable display of commitment and expertise, five coaches from Singapore recently completed the FIG Academy Level 3 for Artistic Gymnastics (MAG & WAG) in Doha, held from December 4th to 9th, 2023.

These accomplished coaches, who had already met the criteria as Academy Level 2 Coaches, have been actively contributing to the development of coaches in Singapore. Their roles included presenting in coaching courses, workshops, and participating in SG’s development camps.

The distinguished coaches who attended the academy are:

MAG Academy:

  • Park Giyong – MAG NTC
  • KUSUMI Ryosuke – MAG NTC

WAG Academy:

  • LIM Heem Wei – WAG NTC
  • Sy Bonnnie Brydon Jnr – Prime Gymnastics
  • Jufrie Nabilah - Tanglin Trust School

All five coaches successfully completed the course, elevating their status to join a select group of high-level coaches. Their participation in the FIG Academy underscores their significant contributions to coach education initiatives, representing Singapore on the international stage. The FIG Academy Level 3 stands as the pinnacle accreditation within the International Federation and Singapore Gymnastics.

The achievement comes with added responsibilities as these coaches are expected to:

  • Share the knowledge and insights acquired during the course with other coaches within the High-Performance pathway.
  • Extend their expertise to the broader community by participating in future workshops and camps whenever feasible.
  • Be actively involved in the delivery and ongoing development of the Intermediate coaches' course.
  • Participate actively in SGDP and Coaches Congress.

This accomplishment is a testament to their dedication and expertise, showcasing Singapore's prowess in gymnastics on a global scale. The coaches' success in the FIG Academy Level 3 is not only a personal achievement but also a boost to the nation's gymnastics community.
