Coach Appreciation Month

Every September, the Singapore Coaching community recognises the tireless contributions of coaches. As part of this celebration, Coach SG with Singapore Gymnastics (SG) encouraged the gymnastics community to express appreciation to coaches through testimonials, messages, posts and videos.

Coach Cecilia Chia

Cecilia began her coaching journey at the age of 17, after an illustrious career as a national athlete who competed in multiple international competitions, including the inaugural 2010 Youth Olympic Games. She is well loved by her students, who describe her as "encouraging and empowering". Most recently, Cecilia has also come on board as a Coach Mentor to share her experiences with the gymnastics community. This is after she was awarded the Coach of the Year 2019 (National) by Singapore Gymnastics, and she hopes to inspire her gymnasts through her passion for gymnastics. Cecilia believes that there is potential in every child and is excited about her work with her students. She cherishes the rapport and bond formed with each student and is heartened to see her gymnasts grow under her wings. She priorities the holistic growth of her students, to become all-rounded individuals especially in character development. DGA would like to thank Coach Cecilia for her dedication towards her students over the past 9 years!
